We’ve streamlined the path to mastery by starting with the most exciting part: the “Sunken Relic Recovery.” In our warm, 90-degree pool, you’ll immediately begin working with professional lift bags and salvage rigging. By focusing on these engaging, hands-on projects first, you’ll find that complex skills like buoyancy and balance become second nature. This is a welcoming, expertly guided experience that proves the most rewarding way to learn is by diving straight into the “good stuff” in a comfortable, stress-free environment.

Curriculum:

Session 1: The Lift (4 Hours) Your journey begins in the comfort of the specialized, 90-degree pool at Dive Addicts. Roger invites you to take on your first mission: the salvage of a “sunken relic.” You’ll get hands-on with professional lift bags, learning how to secure and raise objects with precision. By starting here, you’ll discover that staying perfectly still in the water is easy when you have a clear, engaging objective to focus on.

Session 2: The Grid (4 Hours) Now that you’ve mastered the art of the lift, we move into the art of the find. Roger will guide you through the basics of underwater navigation, teaching you how to run a search grid using a compass and natural landmarks. This session is all about building your confidence and spatial awareness. You’ll learn to move through the water with the grace of a pro, realizing that “trim” and balance are simply the tools that help you reach your goals.

Session 3: The Protocol (4 Hours) To round out your expertise, we dive into the “why” behind the “how.” Now that you’re comfortable in the water, we’ll cover the essential science and safety protocols, including gas laws and emergency drills. Because you’ve already mastered the technical skills of a salvage diver, these fundamentals will feel like a natural safety net. You’ll finish the session with the skills of an architect and your official SDI Open Water Certification.

The Investment

Your investment covers all professional salvage equipment, private pool access, and SDI certification processing. Final open-water checkout dives are available as a follow-up expedition.

He invites you to join him in his favorite classroom—the deep pool—where he shares his passion for technical diving in a way that is easy to understand and even easier to enjoy. Come Prepared With

• Please bring a swimsuit, a towel, and your curiosity! We recommend a personal rash guard for your comfort during the sessions. To keep our pool time focused on the fun, a tablet or laptop is needed for the integrated digital reviews.

Provided For You

• Your host, Roger, provides all the high-end scuba equipment you’ll need, including specialized salvage lift bags, professional regulators, and tanks. You will also receive a custom digital logbook and all SDI training materials required to finalize your certification.

About The Setting

We are proud to host this experience at the Dive Addicts center in Draper, Utah. The facility is home to a custom 90-degree heated pool, ensuring you stay warm and focused on your skills. Parking is easy and free in the lot right out front. Once inside, you’ll find professional changing rooms and hot showers to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
